Book two of the Eli Monpress series, and I'm still really enjoying it! The beginning of an overarching plot is starting to appear, and it looks like this could become very epic in scope. There's also more backstory, delivered in a really awesome way that lets you piece it together on your own, which is great.

I went into this book expecting a fast-paced heist story. And I got that. But I did not expect how much I would grow to love the characters. Especially Eli. He's charismatic, charming, can talk his way out of anything, and for some reason, even though I would usually find that annoying, I loved it.
One of the nice things about this book is that there isn't any romance. It's just a heist story. There isn't a need for romance, and it's really refreshing to read a book without a love story of some kind.

This is an amazing book! I really liked the idea, and the characters were (mostly) awesome.
It felt realistic, and I was rooting for Miranda and her family. The ending was good. Matt was probably my favorite character, along with Mrs. Nesbitt.
However, I can't give this the five stars I want to. There's one reason for this: portrayal of religion. It's not a major part of the book, or my rating would be lower, but it was mildly irritating, and I had to put down the book once or twice to take a deep breath.
Overall, however, this was a really good book, and I'll probably read it again. This is an amazing book! I really liked the idea, and the characters were (mostly) awesome.

Oh my word. Got this one two or three days after I finished Cinder and was not disappointed. Scarlet is awesome. If I actually met her, I would feel like I'd gained a sister. She's not afraid to speak her mind, she works for what she gets... This girl is amazing.
And Wolf. Can we talk about Wolf for a minute? From the moment Scarlet thought he would ask for the whole pig, I was on his side. He's a complex character who falls into the category of 'fictional characters I just want to hug', and I really get where he's coming from. I'm excited to see more of him. He's like Bucky Barnes in a way, but with tomatoes instead of plums. Is that a weird parallel? Probably. Do I like it? Yes.
As for the plot, I yet again enjoyed it. I don't feel like there was as much insight into Scarlet's thoughts and character, but that's because there are more protagonists in this book then there were in Cinder. It's not overwhelming, and each one is important, but I didn't learn as much about the characters as I would have if it was just Scarlet's point of view.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It had been recommended to me a few times, and I finally put it on hold. When it finally came in, it took me maybe three hours to read. It's a fairly quick read, with a very well developed world and well written characters. Even the antagonists had depth that made me sympathize with them.
The plot itself was fairly predictable to a certain degree. However, for each plot twist that I saw coming, there was another that I didn't expect in the slightest.
My favorite part of the book? Surprisingly, the scenes with Kai. More than a few times I have not enjoyed a book because of the love interest, but I really liked Kai. He's not a nameless side character like the prince usually is in Cinderella. Kai is complex, and he has real feeling emotions and reactions to the events that take place.
As for the plot, it's Cinderella as a cyborg mechanic in a futuristic Beijing. If that sort of plot doesn't interest you, what will?I was pleasantly surprised by this book. So, Inheritance. This was the book I had been looking forward to from the moment I finished Eragon, and I was not disappointed. Eragon and the other characters have really grown and changed throughout the story, and I feel like all the character arcs were sorted out nicely.
One of the things I liked about this book is that at the end, there are still mysteries in Alagaësia. I'm not going to name anything, but I have read books that tied up everything, leaving nothing to speculate about, or anything for future generations of characters to try to solve. That's one of the things that made Alagaësia feel real.
I'm sad it's over, but I look forward to reading it again! So, Inheritance. This was the book I had been looking forward to from the moment I finished Eragon, and I was not disappointed. I think that as a whole, this movie is pretty good for an afternoon if you want to watch a simple fantasy movie. As an adaption, it's not very good, but it gets enough right to be passable, at least in my book.
I'm taking a few points off for mentioning Arya is a princess, but not mentioning she's an elf. Other than that, I found this extremely enjoyable to watch with my sister when we had nothing else to do.I think that as a whole, this movie is pretty good for an afternoon if you want to watch a simple fantasy movie. Okay, wow. That's pretty much my only thought upon finishing this book. It was...extremely intense and epic. Those plot twists blew me away.
I'm glad Paolini never actually writes the true names - that would definitely take away from the story. But instead, only knowing they're being said makes them even more mysterious and magical.Okay, wow. That's pretty much my only thought upon finishing this book. It was...extremely intense and epic. The second book of the trilogy, The Two Towers is an awesome book! Part one follows Aragorn and most of the surviving Fellowship, and part two follows Frodo and Sam. It's a wonderfully well written book that I am very glad to have read.

Awesome book! I really enjoyed it.
On the cover, is Cassandra wearing the same crown Galadriel wears in The Hobbit?
