Documents the experiences of Alex Marlarkey, a boy who spent two months in a coma after a terrible car accident and awoke to claim he had been in heaven with angels and Jesus.
This 50-minute documentary looks into an ordinary boy's most extraordinary journey and his recovery from the near-death injury.
Heart-wrenching but inspiring!
Long story short, a boy who was in a horrific traffic accident made up a story about going to heaven for attention, and his father wrote a best-selling book about it. Years later, the boy admits it, saying: "people have profited from lies, and continue to. They should read the Bible, which is enough. The Bible is the only source of truth. Anything written by man cannot be infallible." But it seems his father has squandered the money from the book, and the boy struggles to get needed surgery. Now, I'd like to see a movie about that story. It is NOT what this DVD is about though. Instead, it's a paint by numbers, recovery from illness with the help of religion story.

I was HIGHLY skeptical of this book when it first came out... Simply because these types of NDE books that promote a specific religion just don't fit the experiences of real life NDE subjects. Those who experience NDEs for real quickly understand that people of all faiths - and no faith - pass on to a positive Afterlife. And that people of all religions, denominations, sects, and seven atheists have NDEs.
But in this case the "co-author" and supposed NDE subject has recanted his story, saying that it simply was ALL a LIE, a fully manufactured story.
It is clear that the real author, the co-author father, a "Christian" therapist, had a personal agenda to follow (one promoting the Christian religion)... and GREED!
