Book 4 in Scarrow's Eagle series. The Romans are in England some of the local tribes accept their presence - most of the tribes do not! One tribe asks to be trained in Roman military tactics - trained and armed as Legionnaires (good idea?) Macro & Cato get assigned that task as Roman politics continue to infiltrate the British Legions. Great series, fast paced, good read.

I think with book number four Scarrow has improved his storytelling enough to give a 4 star.
I have always liked Macro and Cato. They are a great team and their adventures in Britain are great fun with some wonderful history as their setting.

Terrific !!! Fast Paced, interesting story line, a few chuckles, good depiction of the Roman Legion in Britain in the early years when Vespasian was there, but not yet in charge. Contains quite a bit of fighting and violence, but that was why the Romans were there, to conquer the Britains.
