Easily a new favourite and one I know I will reread again and again. This book is gentle, it's wholesome -- it just wraps you in its embrace and takes you away somewhere far, yet it feels so familiar. I loved the children in this story and Arthur and Linus are just too sweet for words.

The House in the Cerulean Sea is, at it's core, a cozy, paranomal found-family love story. But it is way more than the sum of it's parts. It is an utterly delightful book that is funny and emotional and just so pleasurable to read. I'm sure I'll find myself returning to this one again and again when I'm in need of a comfort read.

I really enjoyed this novel and found it was a fast and entertaining read. The character development is impeccable, especially with our main character Linus. By the time you're finished with it you've fallen in love with all of the children, the island, and Linus who is fiercely protective of what is just and right when it comes to magical beings. I highly recommend it, and also think it would be a good book to get you out of a reading shlump.

This book is one of my favorite books I've ever read. I loved the store, I really loved the characters, and I loved the message. I just loved it.

I am adding this book to the top ten novels I've ever read. The author takes something so unbelievable and you believe it! You fall in love with these characters, and you ache for them, you cheer for them, and you cry for them. I wan to live in this house and never leave.

This book deserves more than five stars. While a fairly easy read with lots of humour, it had a massive impact on me. Within the pages there were lessons on diversity, acceptance, found family all with a slight Orwellian theme. An "own voice" novel, as the author is queer.

I read a great many books, and I think sometimes that renders me a little jaded. While I enjoy most of what I read, I don't usually react with the jumping-up-and-down evangelistic adoration I lavished on my favorite stories as a child.

Not usually, but sometimes.

The House in the Cerulean Sea is one of the most warmhearted, purely wholesome and enjoyable stories I've ever read. Given that I tend to be rather grimdark in my reading tastes and 'wholesome' is not ordinarily a work I would even think to apply to most books I enjoy, I would recommend this book to anyone. In fact, that's exactly what I have been doing, passionately and at great length. I intend to beg and cajole everyone I know into reading this book, because it would be a disservice to them to let themselves be deprived of it. Don't do yourself that disservice, either.

Such a delightful book! A must read to learn how to be kind and tolerant...and happy. Love all the characters and a very unusual plot. I hope to see a movie based on this book one day.

Made me feel for the kids and the relationship of Linus and Arthur with such emotions and clarity. I will recommend this to everyone I know. 100 out 0f 5 stars made me cry, squeal in joy, and would reread. I love this book and now I am on a quest to read everything Mr. Tj klune has published.
