Very addictive novel. Had a good storyline and characters were well written.

I'm not sure I can even find the words to express how much I enjoyed this novel. I will say it's one of her best. I laughed, I cried and my heart wrenched so often, I wasn't sure I would survive. I love TBDB without question. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. It deserves so much more. The ending shocked the crap outta me. It wasn't what I expected. Now I look forward to Murhder"s story. So here's my 5 + stars, and a MUST READ novel. Honestly, I don't know how anyone could read this and NOT enjoy it. Just sayin'.

Years ago, I read all the books but stopped before reading this book. I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood but the books were just too much the same and I wasn't liking the format anymore. Fast forward and looking around, I found the most recent book and decided to read it. Well, turns out I've missed out on a few things and I really loved reading these books.

So, I go to the book I should have read after I stopped. I like the book but I am skipping over so much. For people only reading this for the first time (and not read any others), I think it would be confusing too.

Once done w/ all, I might go back to the first few. Those were the funnest.

Loved John, loved Xhex, and loved them together! (ou la la!) It was finally great to see Xhex's so-called "evil" sympath-side do its thing on an enemy; some readers including me expected more "evil" from Rehv in his book.

In past books I always enjoyed John as a side story can you not love sweet, devoted John. However in this book now that John & Xhex were the main focus this is what I have to say about this book to Ward: TOO. MUCH. FILLER. I know seeting up for future books...

At times when the book felt like it was gaining some momentum, Ward abrubtly changes gears. As much as I've enjoyed this series I recommend not reading them one after another as Ward's constant changing of POVs can be super frustrating.

Payne - Who cares/boring.

Ghost – certainly didn't need to develop the couple as much as she did…an edit would have been nice!

Qhuinn & Blay – setting up for a future book/novella so we're tormented with loads of sexual tension. Qhuinn is such a sleaze.

Why hasn't john read the freakin' diary yet??? Did I miss it when he did? All I remember was that in (I think) Rehv's book John read a small part of it and mentioned that he hadn't read it yet. Why? Are we supposed to believe that he would possess a diary of his deceased father and NOT read it? Maybe Ward is saving this for the Tohr book.

Also, at the main event at the end of this mention of Rev! He's been her very close best friend for who knows how many years. Bad oversight.

In the end, I'm satisfied with Lover Mine's main focus but I need a break from Ward's 5 POVs per book. I don't recommend reading this series one-after-another HOWEVER reading up to Lover Mine is well worth it!

John...I have to say something to you. It's been a long time in coming... so long. Too long. God, this is hard. You wouldn't think three little words would be so hard to say. John...I... John Matthew...I'm such an ass-hat. Guess that's four words, huh.---Xhex
