After twenty years, Leo Pizzola has come back to his native Tuscan village of Santo Fico, still single and still looking for a way to get rich. But the town is as poor as it was on the day Leo left. The broken fountain in the small piazza is as dried up as the town's hopes. Of Leo's childhood companions, only one embraces him. Even the town's kindly old priest seems to have lost his faith. What Santo Fico needs is a miracle. All titles are available in Basic 7.
A heart-warming, light read that will transport you to a hill town village in Tuscany during a very hot summer. I could visualize myself strolling across the sun-filled piazza, or entering the small, dark church with its mystery and miracle as I read it. The characters are well developed, the story is charming and the ending very moving.
