Ten strangers trapped on an island are murdered, one by one. Plots similar to this one usually end with the boring, obvious killer that the reader guessed long before. But, Christie’s writing is neither boring nor obvious as she leaves the reader guessing until the very end. This novel is no exception. When ten completely diverse and different people arrive at the island, their individual criminal pasts are exposed to the rest. Immediately after, each guest is killed and they ascertain one of them is the killer. Not knowing whom to trust, the group’s mentality borders on insanity as they have no means of catching the killer or getting help. Christie outdid herself with this thrilling yet dark murder mystery where the reader is as clueless as the guests.
