Oh dear. What can I say? Well, actually I can say that this is the last Peter James novel I am going to bother to read. I have read every single one of them so far. The last one was very disappointing. Flimsy characters ridiculous plot. I hoped this one would be better. However - no change. More Flimsy characters and the plot was old and tired. It's been repeated in a hundred other books and films. The narrative was irritating to say the least. I do believe that there was at least one exclamation mark on every page. Short sentences that seemed to be written for the younger reader. Too much detail about police procedure which quite frankly, most people really don't care about, I am sure. I usually skip over those paragraphs because they are really boring. I am getting really bored by the former wife scenario too. It is dragging on and on and gets nowhere. He should bring it to a head, and very soon. Peter James seems to be churning out Roy Grace novels at the rate of one a year. I think he is so desperate to do so, that he rushes through them, because that's how it feels. But still, what do I care? I won't be reading about Roy Grace any more. Time to see if Peter Robinson has written a new book and also Stephen Booth. Both far superior writers of English crime novels. So long, Peter James - shan't be seeing you again.
