Deadly Allies

Canada's Secret War, 1937-1947

Read this book and think before you accuse pigeons or wild ducks with spreading illnesses. This book was written from declassified documents, and is scary. As of today, several countries still play with germ warfare experiments (what for?), although lately there is little talk about it in the media. I took history classes in college here and I know that 80-100 years ago there were cases of mass hysteria even in BC, always blaming the powerless for any real or imagined dangers. Chinese people were blamed (falsely) during the Great Depression for bringing in some plague, Chinese people were beaten to death in the streets of Vancouver, and Chinese people were put into detention camps outside the city to keep them away from the rest of the population. The people here are prone to be hysterical about imagined dangers; in Surrey some people had the hens or goats of their neighbors removed; an emu (Australian small ostrich) kept in a Vancouver backyard had been executed a few years ago for fears of neighbors of it spreading bird flu, and the authorities didn't even check if the bird carried viruses on it. This was in the local Media here. Imagine the hysteria when a plague hits. In Egypt thousands of pigs had been mass murdered and burned for fear of the swine flu. Mass hysteria, but I think people are looking in the wrong place when blaming animals. Just read this book "Deadly Allies" and think if it's the animals that create new illnesses. Or read the article on the I-net titled: "Kissinger, eugenics and depopulation."
