This book took me quite a while to read to but it was so worth it! It's actually the first Dickens book I've ever read and I kind of wonder why I haven't opened any before. I watched the BBC version of this and loved it so much that I decided to read the book. I'm very glad that I did because although the TV version is soooo great, this book is just so much more rich. I love this story, I love Dickens' writing style (very sarcastic, full of satire and scorn for certain parts of society, in particular, the government and other upper-class people), his characters (I especially love Flora), the ups and downs of the plot. It starts out with a creepy dude in prison, but don't let that put you off and just keep reading. It can be a bit slow and heavy at parts (which is why it took me a long time to finish). Also, I took this on my vacation to Hawaii, which wasn't really a good idea because it's definitely not very light and fluffy. Dense, packed, full to the brim, is more how I would describe it. Heartrending, comical, depressing, peaceful, amazing. I recommend this for anyone who likes historical stuff and good literature.
