Annabel is seen as the “girl who has everything”. At least, that’s how it looked like in the commercial she was in. But in reality, a lot’s different; she has no friends and no happiness at home. And then, she meets Owen Armstrong. Owen is seen as the “bad” kid: tall, gloomy, and always listening to music. He also has an obsession with only telling the truth. Through Owen, Annabel is able to face her demons and finally let out the truth that has been haunting her. Something I liked in this book was the characters. They’re both strong, in their own way, and go through great character development throughout the book. The reader also connects with Annabel and gets a glimpse of what Annabel’s going through, which helped me connect to the book. I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a quick coming of age story merged with a cute romance.
