(5 stars) Ultimately a very satisfying read, but had some frustrated moments - especially with Danny! It's obvious that this is the last (most likely) Troubleshooters novel, since there are no obvious loose ends (although there are plenty of well-loved characters who haven't yet found love). I had a hard time putting the book down, even when there times when I didn't want to deal with the subject matter (the sex trafficking, the painful miscommunications, the god-awful Gillman parents, etc.) The two main couples in this book reminded me, in various ways, of the final three couples in the Tall, Dark, and Dangerous series, but with a dysfunctional slant. Brockmann wrapped things up with a satisfying HEA, but still stayed true to the characters. I probably won't re-read the TS series the way that I do the TDD series (which are fewer, simpler, and briefer), but I will definitely be on the lookout for any future installments - even if it's just the short story collection due out in Spring 2013. Brockmann has breathed life into these characters and made me love almost all of them (Joan from Into The Night never really won me over, among others). For the most part, they are complex and continue to evolve throughout the series, and I've enjoyed the ride. *based on text edition*
