Summary:
What if dragons really existed?
Saba Watanabe knows dragons exist and just how dangerous they can be! Malcolm, a black dragon, left her eight months ago and she should have forgotten him by now (see DRAGON HEAT for more details on their first encounter). When a white dragon tries to put his dragon mark on her, she has no choice but to call Malcolm for help. The white dragon has a deadly plan in mind, and Saba and Malcolm will have to once again work together if they are to save all of dragonkind. Will Saba and Malcolm find love this second time around?
Malcolm and Saba really stole the show in DRAGON HEAT so it was good to see them finally get their own book! If you haven't read DRAGON HEAT yet, please note that THE BLACK DRAGON contains major spoilers for it and reveals the big secret from the first story. The relationship between Saba and Malcolm also first begins in DRAGON HEAT, so while THE BLACK DRAGON is a stand alone, the story is much better if you read the books in order.
This series only gets better and better! THE BLACK DRAGON goes deeper into the world of dragons and Dragonspace as Allyson James continues to show the true depth of the world she has created. However, it is not just the world itself that makes THE BLACK DRAGON so spectacular as the characters themselves are vibrantly alive. Saba and Malcolm are two of the most vividly drawn characters and their highly anticipated story delivers one powerful punch.
The relationship between Saba and Malcolm has easily evolved in THE BLACK DRAGON. In DRAGON HEAT, Saba was unwillingly bound to Malcolm, forced to obey him because of the dragon mark. I must admit that it is a little surprising to me that their story is so strong that this became a non-issue for me. In fact, part of what makes THE BLACK DRAGON so effective is that Saba and Malcolm are put on equal footing after Malcolm gets a little taste of his own medicine! What if dragons really existed?

Summary:
Carol Juan is trying to get her grandmother into the modern age. A successful businesswoman in her own right, Carol is gnashing her teeth trying to get her grandmother's family owned and operated restaurant from losing more customers due to its lack of modern conveniences. When a naked man runs into her outside of the restaurant in the alley, Carol is reluctantly attracted to the man but still a bit scared of him as well. Especially since he is accusing her of summoning him to her side. Confused as to what he means and not really understanding why he has singled her out, Carol is even more astonished to find out that dragons are not myths but living and breathing creatures and in fact, she knows several.
Seth continues to believe that Carol summoned him to her and if that isn't bad enough, he can smell that she is the woman for him. It will take a lot of convincing to make this independent woman bind herself to him but Seth knows that their attraction will make all the difference in the world. With his appearance, Carol's true calling comes to light and that is where their loyalty to each other will be tested.
Seth was insatiably sexy. Manly to the core of his being, he was aware of Carol and everything about her. His trust in her was hesitant at first; okay, actually it was nil. He didn't trust her and he didn't understand her. As time went on, however, Seth began to see the woman underneath Carol's persona and fall in love with her.
Carol's character went through a type of metamorphosis. Everything that she thought was real and true was not and her belief system had to take a one hundred degree turn from the normal and sedate to myths and shape shifting dragons. Fascinated by Seth but wary of him at the same time, Carol was cautious at best and Seth forced her to see and listen and open her mind to mystical things. Their relationship is intense and sensual and each has to learn how to deal with the other. Overcoming obstacles is what they did best; other than love each other. Above all THE DRAGON MASTER is about love.Carol Juan is trying to get her grandmother into the modern age. A successful businesswoman in her own right, Carol is gnashing her teeth trying to get her grandmother's family owned and operated restaurant from losing more customers due to its lack…

The ideas of opposites attracting can make for a good novel but in many of the scenes Daniel is too mean and Luce is too weak. The book ends set up for a sequel and you if you feel invested in the characters, you can only hope that they become deeper and more complex and don't read so shallowly in the next installment.
I found it hard to beleive that almost everyone at this boarding school was a fallen angel, maybe if Daniel had said they (the angels) knew she was coming it would explain why so many were there but he said Luce had found him so what were they all doing there already? alot of the kids and even two of the teachers? another qustion, how could parents let their kids go to such a school (detention in a cemetery, come on) without checking it out first and sensless killings of characters. The last one really ticked me off, just made no sense and nobody will have to account for this? nothing was explained about why they fell, why they fight or about the shadows, why they haunt Luce and what they mean...hopefully it will be better explained in the next books and the characters will become ones we love to cheer for.The ideas of opposites attracting can make for a good novel but in many of the scenes Daniel is too mean and Luce is too weak. Summary:
After a devastating fire, Luce is pulled out of her high-achieving prep school and deposited within the rusted gates of Sword and Cross reform school in Georgia. Really you would think her parents would have checked the place out first. I found it hard to believe any parent would allow their kids to attend a run down creepy school like this. Though plagued by visions of lurking shadows and the unexplained death of her classmate, Luce starts making both friends and enemies and drawing the attention (both good and bad) of two guys. Despite his cold behavior, Luce is inexplicably drawn to Daniel, and she slowly finds herself on a path of discovery about her past and her potentially devastating future. After a devastating fire, Luce is pulled out of her high-achieving prep school and deposited within the rusted gates of Sword and Cross reform school in Georgia. I'll start by saying that I love this series. I grew completely attached to the main characters Cat & Bones in the previous 3 books. And although I couldn't put this book down, I was disappointed in it. The Cat and Bones that I came to know and love in the other books were missing. Instead of being strong and sassy, Cat was grumpy, whiny and drinking too much. She didn't kick much ass like she did in previous books and instead seemed to be mostly hiding from problems and drowning in misery. Bones was ugly and nonsupportive, and generally noncommunicative. The few times they got together in the book didn't make up for all of the bad times. I am hopeful that the next book in the series will bring back the Cat & Bones that I loved from the first 3 books.
I was so upset about Rodney, the closest I cam to crying in this book, it affected me the most.I'll start by saying that I love this series. - "Blimey" Crispin, I hope never to do that again" Bones let out a snort "I quite agree Mate" - Spade about finishing up digging out the silver from Bones!
Summary:
A master vampire by the name of Gregor has declared that Cat is not Bones' wife, but rather his from a distant time when she was 16 years old. Her memories had been tampered with, leaving Gregor's claim prior to Bones. This sets up a contest between Bones and Gregor for her hand in the undead world.
I just found Cat so unlikable in this book. She's petty, spiteful, indecisive, petulant and most unforgivable of all stupid. And you actually end up disliking Bones a bit for not telling her to just sod off. The girl just cannot listen nor does she respect that Bones is two thousand years old, he didn't get there without knowing a thing or two. Things that she in her 27 years might not know.
The only things that salvaged this book were the supporting characters. Highlights being Spade and Vlad and I loved Fabian, I hope he is in the next book as well. - Damn it to the turn and back - A Rachel Morgan saying
Summary:
I enjoyed this audiobook but for me, the book didn't start getting good until Al showed up. After the way the last book ended I thought we were going to see a lot more of Al and Rachael's demon abilities. What actually happended every saturday in the everafter? I like Pierce and I like the idea that he is rather naughty when dealing with demons. Not stupid like Nick. I hope this combined with the whole shunned thing will open the next book up to Rachael the Demon rather than Rachael the whiny crybaby indecisive tease that she has been. though I do hope the shunning is removed as it is not fair to do that to her.
I just love Bis and I want to see more of his character develop. I Jenks and his off the way Tinks something or other way of swearing " Tinks panties"!
Trent. I don't know why I like this character but I do. I think he makes a good ally and a great villain all at the same time. He was sorely missing from this book. I find myself almost hoping for them to get together. I'm holding out hope yet that Trent can see with Rachels help he can accomplish saving his race without needing to kill people and they can find a happy ever after.
My favorite characters are Bis, Al, Trent, Jenks and his entire family. There were not enough of any of them in this book.
To understand this book better you should read Holidays are Hell short story Two Ghost for Sister Rachel for some background on Pierce and Hotter than Hell short story Dirty Magic for the background on Mia. It will help this story to make more sense.I enjoyed this audiobook but for me, the book didn't start getting good until Al showed up. In Silver Borne, Mercy is dealing with the growing relationship between her and her mate, Adam and the problems that relationship is causing within his pack, but in typical Mercy fashion, she doesn't just have a small helping of trouble on her plate - it's a plate of trouble big enough for a werewolf - and in this case, the added helpings of trouble are the suicidal Samuel and the missing Phin, bookstore owner and part fae who lent Mercy a book about fae and who has now disappeared.
I wnjoyws reading about the growth in Mercy's character after a lifetime of independence and a horrifying rape in a previous novel continues to impress me. She's one of the few Urban Fantasy series heroines that continues to grow and evolve in very organic ways during the series, and I appreciate that as a reader. I was particularly delighted with everything in this book related to the pack and Adam and her struggles with Samuel. Finally, after all the trials and tribulations, Mercy and Adam's relationship becomes complete. There are many wonderful moments between the two of them in the book, when each of them realizes with growing clarity just how much they care about each other. I am endlessly amazed by how deftly Patricia Briggs handles emotions and relationships between her characters. It's never dramatic or overly sentimental; it's simple, heartfelt and beautiful. I am so happy they are finally together and you feel the love the two of them have for each other. I can't wait to read the next book where I am hoping there is at least talk of a wedding in it. I can't praise Patricia Briggs and her Mercy Thompson series enough. In Silver Borne, Mercy is dealing with the growing relationship between her and her mate, Adam and the problems that relationship is causing within his pack, but in typical Mercy fashion, she doesn't just have a small helping of trouble on her plate…

This book didn't have a minute to spare. It has action, sex, humor, emotional scenes and interesting supernaturals. Cat's father makes a rather nasty appearance and almost succeeds in getting her killed. Cat's mother is very surprising in this one. I laughed out loud at that scene. One Foot in The Grave was exactly where I wanted to see the storyline go. Once again Jeaniene Frost sucks you straight into the world of Cat and Bones. If I say too much I am afraid I might ruin the book for others. I just have to say, if Halfway to the Grave left you with any feelings of injustice for Cat and/or Bones, One Foot in the Grave will clear all that up and put a smile on your face! One Foot in The Grave was exactly where I wanted to see the storyline go. I didn't really like the first book all that much but I still read this book. The writing is still choppy and disjointed but it did make some good points that hopefully kids reading this will take to heart, what can happen and how to guard against date rape drugs, parties and sexual predators by those your suppose to be able to trust.
I like the relationship between Janie and Cable.
I personally wouldn't be torn over the choice of what to do once Janie found out the side effects of falling into to many dreams, I would find a way to have Cabel and stay away from dreams somehow.

Summary:
Deanna's story is touching, and the worst example of how one event can seem to define a person's life. But like the fighter she is, Deanna tries to move on and just live her life as normally as possible, with her two best friends and her family. But her family life isn't exactly picturesque. Her older brother, his wife Stacy, and their baby daughter are living in the basement. Her father is always arguing with Stacy, and Deanna thinks that he hates Stacy almost as much as he hates her since that fateful night when Deanna's life fell apart. Her mother loves her and tries so hard to give Deanna the care that she needs, but somehow it doesn't quite make up for the fact that their family is just barely scraping by. On top of all that, Deanna doesn't know if she'll ever make it out of Pacifica, a little dump of a town in the otherwise glamorous state of California.
After sophomore year is over, Deanna is stuck at home all summer. To get out of the house and keep her busy, she gets her first job at a little local pizza parlor. There, she discovers that the same boy who came so close ruining her life three years earlier is now her co-worker. While she struggles to understand her feelings towards him, she is also struggling at home to live with the strange family arrangement and someday find a way out.Deanna's story is touching, and the worst example of how one event can seem to define a person's life. - You watch yourself, one day you're gonna pickc a hole in the sky and the universe is gonna fall right through. Then we'll all be in a fix – Amma to Ethan
Summary:
I liked this book. It was interesting, the paranormal aspects were fairly unique, and I love a story with a long family history like this one has.
But I just liked it. It never grabbed me and demanded that I keep reading. I think, mostly, this was because the pacing was off. There was too much time during the story when I was relaxed and not worried about whether the characters were going to get out of trouble. Sure, there were intense moments when I was glued to the pages, but then things slowed down too much and I was lulled into a strange sense of security. This made it too easy to set the book down.
Beautiful Creatures is a good story. I think it could have been great if it had been shorter, which would have increased the tension and kept the reader glued to the pages through the whole story. Or, at least, if it had a bit more depth to it with the characters and setting.
Overall, the only thing that really set it apart was the paranormal aspect, which was really interesting and unique. Unfortunately, it's not enough.I liked this book. It was interesting, the paranormal aspects were fairly unique, and I love a story with a long family history like this one has.

Summary:
ina Bender's job is to find out all the dirty little secrets nobody wants to share. She is working as a gossip columnist at the infamous L.A. Informer tabloid and loves her job.
But when she starts to receive threatening notes that announce her death, her boss Felix Dunn thinks it's time to team her up with hunky bodyguard Cal. Tina and the sexy bodyguard are attracted to each other from the beginning and when the threats become more serious Tina is glad to have Cal on her side.
But even Cal can't stop her from digging for the truth about who is willing to kill because of some Hollywood gossip.
"Scandal Sheet" made me laugh out loud and I'm already excited to see how the series goes on. Tina and Cal are great characters but I also enjoyed reading about Tina's friends and colleagues.
Tina is a hilarious heroine, very witty and clever and you have to love her even if she does like to gossip. Cal is more of a strong and quiet type but with a good sense of humor. Together they make a great couple and I guess he will have his hands full with Tina and her actions in the future.
It was also nice to meet some of the characters from the High Heel Mysteries- series again. (a great series to read as well) It's not clear where the relationship between Allie and Felix stands so that's another thing I want to know from the next books in the series. I loved Tina's reaction to Allie and how she doesn't know that Allie and Felix share some past. (from the High Heels Series).

Summary:
Annwyl, a tough, no-nonsense warrior, leader of the rebellion against her brother who rules the kingdom, finds herself gravely wounded. But she just so happens to be outside the lair or a dragon--Fearghus, a recluse. Bringing Annwyn into his lair to save her, he senses something about her, he's drawn to her as he's never been drawn to another human or dragon before.
Fearing that Annwyl is not strong enough to beat her evil brother, Fearghus offers a mysterious knight to train her. Annwyl agrees. Little does Annwyl know the knight is none other than Fearghus the Dragon!
Annwyl is tormented by the brutish knight training her. Hating him, yet wanting him. The bantering between the two was highly engaging and very well done! Annwyl is in lust with the the knight by day, yet falling in love with the dragon by night.
It's a hopeless battle of wills between Annwyl and Fearghus and one that was very entertaining to read.
Even though she is known as Annwyl the Bloody, and he as Fearghus the Destroyer, the romance was actually very sweet and fun. I really enjoyed the dialogue between the two, sometimes very comical.
I enjoyed Dragon Actually immensely. There's action, head-lopping, a bastard brother who deserves all the anger and rage Annwyl feels toward him. And of course some really great dragon petting :). And human petting!
Dragon Actually, is actually only 217 pages. The remaining 116 pages is a short story, Chains and Flames, which is Feargus's parents.Annwyl, a tough, no-nonsense warrior, leader of the rebellion against her brother who rules the kingdom, finds herself gravely wounded.
